Sizing and condition We take great care in measuring our items accurately. Garments are lain flat when sized and shoes are measured from toe to heal on the inside. Measurements are given in inches. Shoulder measurements are provided for coats and jackets and all bust line measurements are taken one inch below the armpits. When buying a coat, jacket or shirt please allow extra inches for movement and layers. If you are sized 32 inches around the bust, we do not recommend that you buy a coat with a 32in bust measurement. Unless you don’t intend to wear anything underneath it! We do not go by label sizes for clothes or shoes as vintage clothes and shoes tend to be smaller, depending on the era. Please go by our measurements, although these should be viewed as estimates. Please also note that for photographic purposes our garments are sometimes pinned on models and mannequins. We give a full description of all visible faults and those that aren’t visible (ie faults in the lining). We also give an evaluation of the quality of the condition. Excellent: Unworn. Like new. No visible faults though possibly a few tiny non-visible faults. Very Good: Almost excellent but a few visible faults that do not ruin the look of the item. A few non-visible faults, some of which may need minor repairs or which have already been repaired. Good: Visible faults that do not ruin the look of the item. Non-visible faults. Some repairs needed or some repairs may have been done. Average: Visible faults that may interfere with the look and feel of the item. Non-visible faults, some of which may need minor repairs or which have already been repaired. Poor: Limited wearability because of numerous faults. Normally only a collector’s item but sometimes it’s simply an item that we couldn’t resist and think that someone somewhere will love it regardless. Please note that our photographs match the colours of the items as accurately as possible. We use a colour-corrected monitor for this purpose. However, we can’t be held responsible for any lack of colour correction between different monitors as this may, in certain circumstances, cause major differences in the colours. If you are at all unhappy with the colour of your purchase, please contact us immediately. Refunds are given at the management’s discretion.
